Our townscape tells a story about Halstead’s past and present but so too do customs and traditions. Our industries, transport, arts, leisure and world events have all made their mark on the town and its people and these memories survive through traditions, words and images.

Halstead District Local History Society has been publishing books on history and local heritage for many years and a dedicated team of volunteers curate and archives materials at Halstead Heritage Museum.
And of course, memories are being laid down and collected now. Indeed one of these days in the not too-distant future, someone is bound to ask: “What did you do during the pandemic Dad?”
